Not the Only Option

"I was matched with a mom just a month before her baby was due. She was so alone. She had no support system. She needed someone, and One By One provided that someone…me! Over time we built a relationship, and this mom trusted me. When my mentee and I had been meeting for about 4 months, she shared with me that she was pregnant again and was planning to have an abortion. It seemed like the only option to her. I was shocked and had no idea what to say. I called my prayer partner and the One by One staff and we prayed. Someone in my life who had an abortion in her past wrote a letter to my mentee to tell her abortion wasn’t her only option, and to share her regret in making that decision.
