Bilingual? Yes

When this mentor first got involved with One by One Ministries, she requested to be matched with a bilingual mom who was in need of a Spanish speaking mentor. She had always prayed that God would use her ability to speak Spanish for His good. This mentor was so excited to be matched with a Spanish-speaking mom, and she said that she started communicating with her mom on the phone soon after. Around the first of the year, they were able to meet in person for the first time. She was able to bring over a blessing bag from our One by One Mom Blessing Day and meet the baby for the first time.

When winter storms came, this mentor made sure her mom had everything she needed including a TV the mentor donated so they could watch the news to prepare for the storm. This mentor truly went above and beyond for her One by One mom! This mentor shared that now her mom can really see that she is interested in investing in her life. On one of their visits, she asked her One by One mom what she liked to do in her free time, and she said she likes to read her Bible. When this mentor heard this, she decided to bring by three Bibles; one for her mom, one for her baby's dad, and one for her mother-in-law who lives with them. What an opportunity to share the Gospel!

We are so excited to now have our parent pack translated in Spanish! This mentor shared that when they go over the target verses together, her mom can get out her Bible and read along. She expressed how she feels that her One by One mom is now really seeing how much she cares about her, and how much the Lord cares for her as well! She also shared that after a few times of helping her mom with different needs, she started really trusting her and coming to her for help. This newfound trust brought this mentor to tears! Their last visit was so special because they got to talk through John 3:16 together. In response, her One by One mom said, "God's love is great!"

This One by One mentor said she is so grateful God matched her with someone who speaks Spanish so she can use her ESL teaching experience to share the gospel with her One by One mom. This mentor finished our conversation by expressing how much she loves our ministry. She appreciates that One by One provides a way for mentors to meet one on one with a mom, providing each mom an opportunity to see an example of someone walking in Christ!
