She's Been So Awesome

Deanna heard about One by One from her sister who is a mentor in San Antonio, TX. She loved the idea of volunteering with OBO but worried because she travels a lot for work. When she heard of OBO’s virtual program, she immediately completed her mentor application.

One by One matched her quickly with a mom. “She has been so AWESOME! She always does her work and is engaged and enthusiastic about our meetings. She is a delight to meet with.”

Deanna feels that although her mom had many skills to help her be a successful mom, she was able to answer a lot of practical questions about things like car seats and teething remedies. She has loved getting to know her mom and watch her baby grow.

Deanna suggests anyone who is considering mentoring to use OBO’s training as a guide, stay engaged, and enjoy the process of getting to know and help your mom. She adds, “I love getting photos and hearing of the growth of her baby girl. She thrives as a mom. She is doing an amazing job as a first-time mom, and she should be applauded.”
