Thankful to Be Able to Support Her

Julie heard about One by One on the radio in Dallas, TX. As someone who loves babies and who has a heart for volunteering, mentoring, and encouraging others, she felt OBO would be a great organization to volunteer with.

We matched her with Asiya, a pregnant mom who did not live close by and who worked unpredictable hours. She didn’t have any family support and was experiencing a difficult pregnancy with severe morning sickness. Despite the hardships, she and Julie met regularly, even if that meant their meetings turned into phone calls or FaceTime meetings when they couldn’t get together in person.

Julie said she was able to encourage her mom – and remind her how excited she was when she found out she was pregnant – during the rough patches. She also prayed for and encouraged her to fight through the difficulties. She is grateful OBO staff was there to pray alongside her.

Julie visited her mom in the hospital when she delivered her beautiful baby girl. Her dad was the only family member who was with her, so Julie was thankful to be able to be there to support her. She has enjoyed her relationship with her mom and loves visiting with her and her sweet baby.
