Long-term Friendship

One by One matched Rhonda and Larricka learned she was pregnant with Hunter, now eight. Larricka was a single mom and wanted a mentor to help her learn to become the best mom she could be.

Larricka found a job where she was promoted when Hunter was one. While working fulltime, Larricka began taking classes for massage therapy, managing work, school, and the duties of being a single mom. She says Rhonda was always by her side, keeping her focused on her goals.

Larricka recently graduated from massage therapy school, and Rhonda was able to attend the ceremony. Larricka is now preparing for her licensing exam.

Rhonda and Larricka completed our Year 1, Year 2, and Discipleship programs. Rhonda began sharing all that God has done in her life and eventually asked Larricka if she would like to accept Jesus as her Savior. On Mother’s Day 2023, Larricka was baptized. She and Rhonda continue to meet weekly for discipleship, and Larricka and Hunter read the Bible together every night.
