Mom Update

One by One is excited to share an update on a mom who completed both our Year 1 and Year 2 programs.

Jamila reached out to One by One in 2019 after confirming her pregnancy. While in our program, she was working overnight shifts for her local police department, parenting, and attending college – even making the Dean’s List! She now has a new job – which she loves – working with her local Division of Corrections as a background investigator. She has taken a break from school as she transitions into her new job, but she hopes to finish school soon. Meanwhile, Jamila’s son is now in his first year in a school setting and is doing “amazing.” She says his teachers feel he’s precious and “a joy to have.”

We’re so happy to see both Jamila and her son thriving!
